Service Terms and Limitations
Last updated: August 18, 2026
1. Nature of the service
The BelowDock Underwater Video Scan is a visual underwater recording service. It is not a structural inspection, engineering assessment, repair recommendation, safety certification, or pass/fail evaluation, and it must not be relied on as one.
2. Scope of a standard scan
A standard scan covers one dock at one property, up to 10 visible supports or 60 linear feet of dock, and up to 45 minutes of on-site scanning. Deliverables are labelled video clips, approximately 8–15 useful still images, and a one-page media index, delivered digitally within 48 hours of a successful scan.
3. Method and safety
The camera is deployed from a safe shore or dock position. BelowDock does not dive, swim, enter beneath the dock, move objects underwater, or perform repairs.
4. Limitations on what can be recorded
Water clarity, vegetation, weather, dock design, depth, obstructions, and safe access can limit what the camera can record. BelowDock does not guarantee that every component or condition will be visible.
5. Observations only
Any written notes are limited to objective visual descriptions such as “this component appears tilted” or “visibility is limited in this area.” BelowDock does not diagnose structural integrity, determine safety, estimate remaining service life, issue grades, or recommend repairs. Interpretations and recommendations should come from a qualified dock contractor, engineer, electrician, or other professional.
6. Rescheduling and declined scans
BelowDock may reschedule or decline a scan when conditions or access prevent safe operation or useful recording. The $349 CAD service price is charged only when a successful scan is completed and the package is delivered.
7. Access and permission
You must ensure safe site access and property-owner permission. Where you will not be present, entry instructions must be arranged in advance.
8. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BelowDock’s total liability arising from the service is limited to the amounts you paid for that service. BelowDock is not liable for decisions made based on the media provided.
